Lucid Dreaming - Lucid Dream Induction

One of creation’s greatest gems, that people have long pondered and reveled in, is lucid dreaming. A magical state of sleep while completely aware; lucid dreaming is a highly sought after art and science. The more we understand about how to induce the lucid dream state, the more likely we are to be able to join the crew of those able to experience, control and manipulate their dreams. Looking at various lucid dream induction techniques and methods will give us greater insight into how we can join the elite group of aware dreamers.

There are so many lucid dreaming induction strategies that learning and trying them all can be a bit overwhelming. The key is to choose the dream induction exercises that seem like you would be most susceptible to or those that seem the most interesting to you. Different techniques work better for different people so trying a few probably wouldn’t hurt.

Some of the lucid dream induction techniques available include mnemonic lucid dream induction (MILD), wake-initiated lucid dream induction (WILD), nap induced lucid dream induction (NILD), dream-initiated lucid dream induction (DILD), Chakra induced lucid dream induction (CILD), punishment induced lucid dream induction (PILD), reward induced lucid dream induction (RILD), wake-back-to-bed lucid dreaming induction (WBTB), thirst induced lucid dream induction (TILD), sexual induced lucid dream induction (SILD), letter induced lucid dream induction (LILD) and orgone induced lucid dream induction (OILD).

If any of these choices do not sound appealing, or are not working, many have turned to other lucid dreaming induction aides like peripheral devices, herbs, drugs, supplements, hypnosis, meditation, dream recall and sleep cycle adjustment. Now that we have a solid foundation on what lucid dream induction processes are out there, looking at some of the more common choices in detail might give us a better understanding of how they all work.

One of the most common dream induction formulas is the dream-initiated lucid dream induction (DILD) system. In this ritual the practitioner is trying to become aware of the dream while in the dream. The goal is to become lucid while unconscious. Lucid dreams come very easily and are very powerfully when induced this way and that is why this dream induction mode is one of the more successful for many people.

Dream recall is another very simple and ordinary dream induction proceeding. Studies and research show that the more we are able to remember our dreams and the more we are connected with their behaviors, the greater likelihood lucid dreaming will occur. When we can recall and look back upon our dreams it becomes much more basic to transfer and manipulate those same thoughts and actions lucidly in our present dreams.

Last is mnemonic lucid dream induction (MILD). Designed by probably the most famous lucid dreaming authority, Stephen LaBerge, mnemonic induction relies heavily on dream signs and dream recognition. In this method you are focusing on ingraining deeply within memory dream triggers and signals. By holding our dreams in memory it increases the odds that we will find ourselves lucidly dreaming and thinking about the very same thoughts and questions the next time we fall asleep to dream. Regardless of what you choose, lucid dream induction will always be a long term learning process where success varies greatly by individual.

When trying any of these lucid dream induction methods out, it is crucial not to become frustrated if nothing seems to be working at the very beginning. Most of these lucid dreaming routines take a significant amount of practice, persistence and mental fortitude. Don’t worry if you do not succeed with your lucid dreaming inductions right out the gate as there are so many to choose from and so much writing on each that one is bound to click eventually and send your dreaming to a whole new level of awareness and control.
